Our Safe Sport Vision Statement


SWAT strives to make your swimmer’s protection and safety our highest priority. By working together as coaches, swimmers, parents and volunteers, we can ensure all USA Swimming members train and compete in a healthy and safe environment.

Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) - effective June 23, 2019, updated January 1, 2025:

The Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy must be reviewed and agreed to by all SWAT athletes, parents, coaches and other non-athlete members on a semi-annual basis during member registration.

Next click on “Education” in the blue toolbar. 

Select Course Catalog.

Select “Safe Sport Courses.”

Click on “Safe Sport for Youth Athletes (13-17)”

Click on “Go to Course”.


For parents:
